The project was led by Takuya Yamaguchi (Assistant professor, Toyama Prefectural University).

The rice herbicide-metabolizing P450, CYP81A6, was expressed in E. coli to evaluate its activity of bensulfuron-methyl, a major herbicide used in rice cultivation.
